Here at K0TV contesting is one of our primary interests. Amateur radio contesting is the ultimate test of station performance and operator skill. We use contesting to hone our skills and station to a peak of performance. I am a member of The Yankee Clipper Contest Club and I participate with a team of operators in many contests. I also participate in several contests as a single operator station. The HF contest season is generally viewed as running from October to March. During this period are the CQ Worldwide contests, the ARRL Sweepstakes, the ARRL 160 Meter, the CQ WW 160 Meter, and the ARRL DX contests. VHF and UHF contests run at other times.
